A city we will miss!

Over the past three years our "go to" city for a fun Saturday away, or one of the great places to take visitors to, is Heidelberg.  It's less than an hour away, has a great castle, full of cute shops and fun cafes, and has a large walkplatz (pedestrian only zone) which is great when you have little children.  We're definitely going to miss our fun Saturdays in this friendly town.

This weekend was the Heidelberger Herbst, or Old Town Autumn Festival.  There were TONS of people there, lots of "street food," arts and crafts, and musical entertainment.

One last time at the Gartenschau (a.k.a. Dinosaur Park)

This morning we went on one last trip to the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau, one of the kid's favorite places!  The weather was just perfect, and since most kids were in school they had the park pretty much to themselves.  

Each year the Gartenschau has a pumpkin theme for fall, and this year it was Indians.  As usual, they did a great job.  

The kid's favorite part is all the slides and climbing activities.  Before Charlotte has just walked around, but now she has to be in the middle of whatever Isabella and Jack are doing.  Which means that she was right behind them when they went down the highest slide in the park.
