Three Weeks Old!

Jack is three weeks old today! He has been an amazing newborn, really only crying if he needs to eat, we're changing his diaper, or we're trying to keep him awake late in the evening. He doesn't even mind his bath time. His daily schedule right now is to wake up about every 3 hours to eat, and usually stays awake after a couple of his day time feedings. We're trying to keep him awake in the evening, so that he'll sleep well at night. He has gone almost 4 1/2 hours between feedings a couple of nights this week.

Wake up Jack...it's not time to sleep yet!

Practicing his karate moves

He really likes his swing (Thank you again Auntie Cheryl!)

Deep in dreamland. We just have to keep an eye on Isabella so that she doesn't go crazy pushing Jack "higher, higher" in her words.

Congratulations Steve!!

My hubby has his Masters Degree!! His last grade posted today, so he's officially done! He received his Masters in Aeronautical Science/Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He's worked so hard on this, even while working more than full time and being deployed so many times.

I'm proud of you Steve!!!

Crazy Bella Bear...Her Brother Jack...and a Huge Peach Tree

Here are some pictures from the past week. Poppy was able to fly in for a week, so Isabella was SPOILED! Here I thought Isabella had her daddy wrapped around her little finger, but Poppy gives a whole new meaning to that!

One of Isabella's favorite new things to do is play with water on the backyard porch. She loves to pour water from one container to another. She also enjoys "painting" with water. We bought her a bigger pool, so with the temperatures being so warm she's spent a lot of time in that.

My Mom is still here (thank goodness), and since it's too hot to do anything outside we decided to give potty training a try with Isabella. She did very well the first day, but became a bit "bored" with it today. She definitely showed us her two year old side today!

Jack is starting to have preferences which is really cute. For instance, he likes to sleep on his right side in his bed and prefers to drift off to sleep after a good meal by sleeping on mommy's shoulder. He continues to eat EXTREMELY well.

We've been enjoying some wonderful peaches from the peach tree in our backyard. In the three years we've been in Abilene this is actually the first summer we've been in town to enjoy the fresh fruit.

At one point I think I counted 16 containers that Isabella was playing with. These two are her favorite.

Playing with more water

Isabella did a very good job "painting" our patio furniture

Nana and Poppy playing with Bella in her small pool. It's amazing what she can get Poppy to do. She was showing her "leadership" qualities while instructing Poppy what she wanted him to do.

Isabella has found a new use for her time-out stool. She loves to watch Daddy mow the lawn.

Jack loves to sleep with his arms up.

Peaches anyone?

Two Weeks Old!

It's hard to believe that Jack is already two weeks old. It seems like he's been part of the family forever! Isabella has been working hard on sharing, and even offered Jack her beloved bunny the other day. Let's hope it continues!!

Jack went to the doctor today to be weighed, and he has more than gained back his birth weight! He is up to 9 lbs, 4 ounces. The doctor told us that it's ok to take him in public, so we look forward to taking him to church on Sunday!

Recent Pictures

Here are some pictures from the last few days. Jack is starting to spend more time awake, fortunalty for us at the right time. He continues to sleep well at night, only waking a couple of times to eat. He usually goes right back to sleep, except for after the eleven o'clock feeding, but I've enjoyed some wonderful cuddle time with him then.

Isabella is being a great big sister. She says the cutest things to Jack, including a very sweet "I love you," this morning.

Here are some recent pictures...

One Week Old!

Jack turned one week old today. He has been a fabulous baby so far, sleeping and eating with little crying. He has already put himself on a schedule, eating every three hours. Isabella continues to do well around him. She loves to kiss his head and hold his hand.

He had his one week well baby appointment. He's gained back all but 2 ounces of his birth weight and the doctor says he's doing perfectly well.

Bella looks so tired. She had just come in from a long swim in her pool.

Daddy and His Son

It is so precious to see Daddy holding his new son.

Jack Day 5

We have been so blessed with a very good baby! Jack rarely cries, and it's usually for food. Like most babies less than a week old he sleeps a lot, and I think Isabella is beginning to wonder when she can play with him. Steve and I get sleep when we can. Steve's the real champ though, as he went back to work on Monday.

I know the picture below is fuzzy, but I thought I'd show that Isabella finally has almost all her baby teeth in! The poor thing has been teething for almost 17 months!

Though we are all a bit tired, we are so blessed that Baby Jack is such a good baby! Isabella continues to be a great big sister. She gets so excited in the morning to see Baby Jack.

Jack Steven Baker

He's finally here! Jack was born on July 10th at around 12:45 am. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces and is 20 3/4 inches long. He is a precious baby! We arrived home from the hospital this afternoon. It's amazing how when it's your first baby you're scared to come home, but with your second all you want to do is come home!

Isabella and Nana came to the hospital a couple of times. Isabella is doing really well, thanks to Nana! She loves to look at baby Jack, but still loves Nana to read to her as well.

Here are some of his first pictures:
