Jack's last day of Pre-K
Jack was not ready for school to be over! He keeps asking when he can start at Isabella's school. Here's to hoping that his enthusiasm doesn't fade come August! We celebrated the end of a successful school year with some yummy ice cream.

School Awards
Isabella had her school awards program today. We couldn't be more proud of her and all she's accomplished this year. Even starting the year late after we moved from Germany, and being a bit behind from her time in DoDDs schools, she was able to get straight A's the entire school year in an accelerated class. Her favorite subject turned out to be math. We are so thankful for the amazing administrators and teachers at Dyess Elementary!

Memorial Day
On Sunday we went to the Veteran's Cemetery here in Abilene to help place American flags at each gravestone. The kids did a great job being respectful of the occasion, even Charlotte did a great job helping. It provided a great opportunity for the kids, especially Isabella and Jack, to see the sacrifices so many have made for our freedom.

A few school highlights
Isabella and Jack have had a busy last few weeks of school. Isabella's school put on a fantastic production called "I love America" celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner. Dyess Elementary is not a part of the base, but is by far more patriotic than Isabella's last school which was on a military installation. We couldn't be happier with the fantastic job the administration and teachers do to promote good American citizenship. After the production there was a parade featuring the base commander and several other local leaders.
Jack has had several special days at school. His class has been studying Texas and finished the series with Cowboy Day. They had a real cowboy come and teach the kids how to lasso, ride a horse, and throw horseshoes.

Family from Houston
Cheryl, Michael, Christian and Matthew came from Houston for a quick visit over Mother's Day weekend. We had so much fun, staying up way too late and eating way too much. Steve was able to show them his flying squadron and airplane. We had a great Mother's Day dinner at Perini Ranch.

Trouble...
If you're in our house long enough you are more than likely to hear "Isabella and Jack never did that!" Charlotte is a very curious, active, and sometime destructive three year old. She's very loving, but also mischievous. She still needs a nap, but now refuses to. While she's suppose to be laying down she usually quietly destroys her room. One day she will make a great Navy Seal...she's stealth and way too stubborn to ever ring the bell!
