Jack Jack

Jack has been saying some CRAZY things recently, and they seem to mostly come out at church. :)

"What's your name?" over and over and over again.

"What's your number?" really asking how old you are.

"Made you look." He'll do something crazy so that you'll look at him, and then say this.

"And then what?" He loves to know what we're doing for the day, and after I say what our plans are he'll say this.

"Turn right to go left." He says this whenever I make a turn while driving. He's obviously been watching way too much of the movie Cars.

He LOVES playing football with his Daddy. This is the conversation that I had with him this morning when I got him up:
Mommy: "Are you going to play football when you get older?"
Jack: "Yes, I am going to play football."
Mommy: "Are you going to be a Longhorn?"
Jack: "No."
Mommy: "Are you going to be an Aggie."
Jack: Excitedly... "Yes, I am going to be an Aggie!"

He still misses Isabella when she's at school, and is learning to tolerate Charlotte. Potty training is going half well. Still working on portions of this. But, thankfully he has a HUGE bladder.

Jack LOVES to give hugs and cuddles. The ONLY downside to this is that he seems to think he can get out of being in trouble by giving hugs and saying how much he loves you.

Jack provides so much joy in the house. We can not imagine life without our boy!

Our Valentine's Day!

We've had a lovely Valentine's Day. It is so fun to celebrate a holiday like this with the kids. They love all the special things that come with the day.

Though Steve and I haven't spent many Valentine's Days together due to deployments, there are a couple of them that stand out as extra special days. 5 years ago on Valentine's Day Steve arrived home from his first long deployment as a Daddy. It was so much fun dressing up Isabella to see Daddy. Also, a year ago we brought Charlotte home from the hospital on Valentine's Day.

Charlotte's One Year Update

Charlotte, what are you up to?

- Your little personality is becoming quite big! You have a mind of her own, and will definitely let people know if something is bothering you or you want someone’s attention! You are so determined!

- You have a tooth! Your first tooth broke through the night of your birthday.

- You are becoming more daring and will walk around holding onto the furniture. You still hate having to sit down from standing.

- You've had a bit of a bug, but are starting to eat better again. You are slowly switching to milk and table food. Your favorite foods are apples, cheese, yogurt, and carrots. You will try anything!

- You have figured out how to open the kitchen cupboards and can quickly make a mess!

- Your new favorite activities are trying to climb the stairs and playing with anything that Jack is playing with, which has caused quite a few screaming matches between the two of you.

- You love to do whatever Isabella and Jack are doing, especially wrestling with Daddy. You would climb all over them if they'd let you.

- You don't really have a favorite toy, but like to crawl around while holding onto an animal, ball, or one of Jack's cars.

We love you so much Charlotte and are so thankful that God choose us to be your parents. We pray that the Lord blesses you this coming year!

Charlotte's First Birthday!

She's ONE! A year ago today the Lord blessed us with our Charlotte Mae.

I'll post her stats and what she's been up to this past month tomorrow, after her 1 year check-up. But, I will say that she woke up with her first two teeth poking through this morning!

Here are the last of the monthly chair pictures. It's a good thing that she's one, because it's becoming dangerous to take pictures of her up there without a spotter. She's all over the place!

Birthday for One

This evening we had Charlotte's first birthday party. It was bittersweet for Steve and I. We are so excited that she's growing and developing, but sad that our baby is getting older. :)

We had such a special time with some wonderful friends. Our family is so blessed with those that we have around us. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate Charlotte's first birthday. Of course, I was too busy talking and having fun to take pictures of all the kids and families...that's always been my dad's job. :) I am hoping to get a picture of Charlotte and her friends tomorrow at church.

Her birdie cake

She wasn't quite sure what to think, but did love having everyone sing to her.

Cake!

She had the funniest look on her face when she took her first bite.

She was willing to give it a second try.

And, she decided that she liked it. :)
