A New Do

Since Isabella's hair has been long enough to do anything with she's been very anti touch my hair. She HATES to sit still for anything, and doing anything "special" with her hair just wasn't worth the battle. I was lucky enough to get her to keep a barrette in her hair to keep it out of her face. Anyway, last night while she was watching Mickey Mouse I thought I'd see if she'd sit still long enough for me to put her hair in pony tails. She did and she loved it. She kept swishing her head back and forth so her hair would hit her in the face. She even asked me to put her hair in pony tails this morning! Yea!

Baking Bella & Grinning Jack

Though we are all suffering from colds we've had an enjoyable weekend. Steve was not on call this weekend, which meant a much more relaxing few days for him. While Daddy was at the golf course Isabella helped me make muffins for the guys in Daddy's office. (I told Steve that it would probably be a wise idea not to tell his office that a 2 1/2 year old made them.)

Jack is grinning more and more. The other morning when I walked into his room he got the biggest gummy smile. It was one of those moments where I wish I could always have a camera with me to capture those perfect snapshots.

Hurricane Ike & Hurricane Isabella

As many of you know most of Steve's family lives in and around Houston, so this past week has been very difficult for them with Hurricane Ike. Some of his family evacuated to Austin, his mom came to our house, but many of them stayed behind. His sister and brother-in-law are still waiting for electricity, but we are so thankful that everyone is OK. Things are still hard there, so please be praying that everything settles down soon.

We have a hurricane of our own, Isabella! Steve was practicing golf in the backyard, and thought it would be "fun" to let Isabella swing a club around. Thank goodness no one was hurt! I think it might be a smart and safe idea to look into getting her some clubs her own size and without any metal.

2 Months Old!

Jack is two months old today. We're to the point where now we don't refer to how many weeks he is, but months. He's such a precious baby! The pictures below compare how big he looked in his car seat the day we took him home from the hospital vs. how big he looks today.

A fun week!

We have had one fun filled week, well except for Jack's immunization shots. Isabella started AWANAs at church where she's a Puggle. This week she learned that God made light. She talks all about it, and I'm not sure but I think she is under the impression that God made not only the moon and sun to provide light, but also light bulbs. She also started Kindermusik today. She and Daddy had a blast! She was so excited when she got home and told me all about the things she learned.

Jack had his two-month check up on Wednesday, and boy is he growing! He weighs 13 lbs, 14 oz. He's in the 50% on height and 75% on head size. He's getting stronger and stronger and more wiggly on the changing table. He's started making the most adorable cooing noises, though he still "squeaks" which can make sitting in church kind of interesting during the sermon. His little grins just melt our hearts. One of his new favorite things are the mobiles above his swing and crib. He watches so intently and every now and then will give a cute little grin.

Listening intently at Kindermusik.

Miss Perpetual Movement did great during the action portion.

Jack just chilling out while waiting for everyone to get ready and go. I love this Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts on him.

We love his chubby cheeks!

There's almost a grin.
