M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

This year for Halloween Isabella and Jack were Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Isabella loved being dressed up in her "beautiful" dress, as she called it, and Jack didn't mind being wrestled into a crazy Mickey costume. Unfortunately it was quite warm out, and since Jack is a perpetual heater anyway, we took his costume off after pictures.

After walking to a few houses Isabella and Daddy sat out on our front walk and handed out candy. Isabella loved seeing all the people come by the house!

A Busy Week!

We've just arrived home from a quick trip to Little Rock, where Steve had a couple of meetings. The kids and I spent our time at the mall, and around the hotel. The highlight for us was a wonderful dinner with some old friends from our time in Germany. They are now in Little Rock and treated us to a great dinner at their house and some lovely company. Thank you Lisa, Barry and Kids!

It's starting to cool off here which is WONDERFUL! I love fall evenings where we can have the windows open for some fresh air and cool mornings for walks with the kids. We purchased a small stroller for Isabella's baby doll. Tonight she walked around our entire neighborhood pushing her stroller as Mommy pushed Jack.

When we arrived home from Little Rock we decided to take the side of Isabella's crib off to make a toddler bed. She has done very well so far, not getting out when she's suppose to be sleeping. We purchased a side rail for the bed, but when we got home and Steve tried to assemble it to Isabella's bed he realized that it wasn't going to work. So, I just put a super fluffy comforter on the floor in case she rolled off (it's not that far off the ground). Anyway, she only fell out once, but jumped right back in bed. She's growing up way too fast!

Here are some pictures from our busy week...

Isabella sat still just long enough for me to put her hair in curlers. Silly me, I didn't get a picture of her hair afterwards.

Silly Jack face.

The crazy one and a new sports nut!

Ah, Isabella is crazy! When she was a baby she hated all her "baby" items like her swing, exersaucer, etc. All she really wanted was to be held and read to. Well, now that we have those items out for Jack she LOVES them. I think it's more of a power struggle with her, she doesn't want Jack to have "her" things. (Something we're working on.)

Here are two funny stories from our walk tonight:

1)
Mommy: "Isabella, who lives in the red barn?" (There's a large red barn that we can see when we take walks in our neighborhood)
Isabella: "Animals....and Baby Jesus!" (I was just glad she didn't say Great Nana, because that has been her response for the last 6 months, and we have no idea why.)

2)
Mommy: "Isabella do you see the moon?"
Isabella: "Ya, but where's the cow?" (We've been reading a lot of nursery rhymes lately...the cow jumping over the moon.)

On a totally different subject, Jack became a little sports nut with Daddy this weekend. He had fun watching Texas beat OU!

Just chilling.

Red River Shootout

Today is the big football game between Texas and Oklahoma. With both teams in the top 5, it's sure to be a great game. Hook 'em Horns!

Two little Texas fans!

Touchdown!

3 Months Old!

Jack is 3 months old today! He's at such a fun stage of smiling cooing and laughing. He especially loves all the attention his big sister gives him.

He is starting to push himself around with his legs when he's on his back, especially when he's playing under his playgym. He's been "chewing" on his hands a lot and showing other signs of teething. It will be interesting to see if he starts getting his teeth earlier than Isabella did (Isabella was over a year old before she got her first tooth!). He still loves his swing for nap time, but his favorite place is on the floor all stretched out.

Just some random pictures...

Though Fall is here the weather sure hasn't felt like it. With temperatures in the mid 90's, the air conditioning is still on. We're ready for some cooler temperatures!

We've had a pretty uneventful couple of weeks. We'll be starting our "travel season" soon, so some down time as been nice. We did go to the annual Hot Air Balloon festival here in Abilene. Isabella loves hot air balloons! Now whenever we go outside she looks in the sky for them and asks where they've gone.

Isabella continues to LOVE Kindermusik. It's a wonderful Daddy/Daughter time for she and Steve. Steve always comes home with a cute story of something Isabella has said or done. He says that she's always the first to answer any questions, loudly. She loves the music and playing with the other children.

Jack is growing, growing, growing. He'll be three months on Friday, but has been out of his 0-3 month clothes for almost a month now! He is such a happy baby. He loves it when his sister is around, following her every move. He's babbling more and more, with little laughs thrown in.

A big grin!
