Brugge

We met up with my Aunt and Uncle from England in Brugge for a fun weekend! It was great having 6 adults for the 3 kids. :) Isabella again enjoyed staying in Nana and Poppy’s hotel room, staying up late and being spoiled!
Brugge is a great weekend city, again being able to park the car and walk everywhere. We stayed at the same hotel that we were at 8 years ago.  The breakfast room is in the old cellar, with windows opening up right onto the canal. 

We had fun eating yummy food, taking a boat ride along the canals, and shopping for yummy chocolate, lace and tapestries.

Rothenburg

We headed to Rothenburg for a couple of days. The name "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" means, in German, "Red fortress above the Tauber". The town is located on a plateau overlooking the Tauber River, and is best known for its well-preserved medieval old town.

This is the first time we've been, but plan on going back! It's a fabulous town, with beautiful buildings and scenery. We stayed in a great hotel inside the city wall, with a perfect location on the Marktplatz. I love towns where you can park your car and walk around for the weekend.
