A Return trip to Rothenburg

When we found out that we'd be moving this fall, I started to think of some of the places that I really wanted to visit before we leave.  One of them was a return trip to Rothenburg.  We visited this wonderful town last summer with my parents and ever since have wanted to return.  We stayed at a fabulous old hotel.  It is FULL of amazing antiques, and each room is decorated differently.  It has great character and a yummy breakfast.  I think it is my favorite hotel that we've stayed at here in Europe.  Despite the HOT weather (90 degree heat with no air conditioning) we had a fun time.

When we arrived on Saturday we ate lunch and then walked some of the same paths that we did last summer.  The only difference was that last year we were looking for coffee shops because it was chilly, and this year we were looking for ice cream shops!  We had dinner at our hotel and then headed to the Burggarten so that the kids could run around and get some energy out!

Thankfully overnight there was a thunderstorm which cooled everything down.  We enjoyed a nice breakfast and then did a bit of shopping and walked around the wall again.

At our hotel, ready to explore the town!

On our walk...it was HOT outside!

Having some much needed eis!

A beautiful view of the town!

After a lot of running around,
Charlotte was ready to head back to the hotel!

Queen Isabella.  This was just outside our room.
